Warranty Policy


Steel Doors Queensland provides a 5-year limited warranty on steel-framed doors, windows, balustrades, handrails, and other

architectural steel items against defects in material or workmanship of the product that is not fair wear and tear, and fall

outside of the material tolerances, during the Warranty Period, commencing from the date of delivery.

This warranty is additional to the consumer guarantees provided to you in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

Under the Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of

acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Warranty Coverage


Steel Doors Queensland Pty Ltd ("Steel Doors Queensland", "we", "our", "us") provides a 5-year limited warranty on steel-

framed doors, windows, balustrades, handrails, and other architectural steel items ("Products") against defects in material or

workmanship of the product that is not fair wear and tear, and fall outside of the material tolerances, during the Warranty

Period, commencing from the date of delivery.


We warrant that our Products:

  • Have been manufactured in a proper and workmanlike manner and in material accordance with agreed

specifications;

  • Are free from defects in materials and workmanship* under normal residential or commercial use and maintenance

conditions.


Where a defect is proven and accepted by us within the Warranty Period, Steel Doors Queensland will, at its discretion:

  • Repair the defective Product; or
  • Replace the defective Product with a similar or equivalent product; or


Conditions of Warranty


This warranty applies only to Products that:

  • Have been installed by a qualified tradesperson in accordance with Steel Doors Queensland’s installation guidelines.

If installation is not carried out by Steel Doors Queensland, photos documenting the installation must be supplied via

email to info@steeldoorsqld.com.au;

  • Have been maintained and used in accordance with our care and maintenance instructions;
  • Have not been subjected to misuse, neglect, abuse, or vandalism;
  • Have not been altered or modified in any way;
  • Are protected from continuous or direct exposure to rain or sun unless specified otherwise.


Handcrafted Products


Due to the nature of handcrafted steel products:

  • Minor cosmetic imperfections in the steel, fabrication, welding, and paint are considered part of the character and not

defects.

  • Some bowing or slight distortion may occur due to the nature of steel and fabrication processes.


Exclusions


This warranty does not cover:

  • Fair wear and tear;
  • Damage caused by incorrect installation not in accordance with our guidelines;
  • Damage resulting from conditions, malfunctions, or causes not arising from defects in materials or workmanship;
  • Damage resulting from exposure to extreme weather conditions, direct or prolonged sun exposure, or continuous rain

without adequate overhead cover (minimum 1-1.5 metres recommended);

  • Cosmetic issues such as paint finish, rust, scratches, fading, discolouration, or cracking that do not impair the

functionality of the Product;

  • Any defects resulting from drilling, cutting, or altering the Products after delivery;
  • Damage or deterioration due to improper or lack of maintenance;
  • Products installed in a manner not compliant with applicable building codes or standards;
  • Products damaged by other trades, persons, or events beyond Steel Doors Queensland’s control.


Making a Warranty Claim


To make a warranty claim, you must:

1. Notify Steel Doors Queensland in writing of the alleged defect;

2. Provide your original proof of purchase (receipt or invoice);

3. Provide detailed description(s) and photograph(s) or video(s) showing the defect;

4. Provide evidence that the Product was installed in accordance with our installation guidelines (where applicable);

5. Allow Steel Doors Queensland reasonable access to inspect the Product.

  • Invoice or order number;
  • Description and images/videos of the defect.


Steel Doors Queensland reserves the right to assess all warranty claims. If the Product is found to be defective under this

warranty, we will repair or replace the Product at our discretion. If a Product is found not to have a defect covered by this

warranty, you may be responsible for inspection or transportation costs.


Limitations of Liability


To the extent permitted by law, Steel Doors Queensland is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising

from the use or inability to use the Products. Our total liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the

defective Product.

Transferability

This warranty is provided solely to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

Our steel products are hand crafted and hand welded, not laser cut or mechanically machined. This process results in a

stunning handcrafted finished product, and as a result Minor cosmetic imperfections in the steel, fabrication, welding, and

paint are considered part of the character and not defects. Some bowing or slight distortion may occur due to the nature of

steel and fabrication processes.
